    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly without ETC on Chevrolet Suburban 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The following steps should be undertaken to remove the Throttle Body without etc replace, but first, remove the duct for the air intake, then the accelerator control cable and the cruise control cable from the Throttle Body since then disconnecting the vacuum tube, throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve harness connectors. Secondly, detatch the coolant hose from the Throttle Body and the vapor vent pipe, remove the Throttle Body attaching nuts and remove out the Throttle Body along with the gasket removing the never to be used gasket. It is essential to avoid submerging the Throttle Body in a cold immersion type cleaner because of the factory-applied sealing compound onto the throttle plate that inhibits the air for going to bypass at closed throttle; rather, you should try a spray type cleaner like gm x-66a or gm p/n 1052626 and a shop towel with heavy deposits, and make sure the ti sensor, and iac valve do not get in contact with any solvent or cleaner. Before fitting the Throttle Body with a new gasket, clean the surfaces that form the seal against the gasket, tightening the nuts that attach the Throttle Body using 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the coolant hose to the Throttle Body as well as the vapor vent pipe, accelerator control cable, cruise control cable, then the tp sensor, iac valve electrical, and the vacuum hoses. Replace the air intake duct and with the engine off, make sure the accelerator pedal is moving smoothly by pushing down to the floor, and let go. To reset the iac valve, turn on ignition 10 seconds, turn off ignition 5 seconds, start the engine to verify correct idle speed.

    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Throttle Body assembly, first you unclamp the ducts to the air intake, then unplug the accelerator control cable, the cruise control cable along with the vacuum hose from Throttle Body, de-clamp the throttle position (TP) sensor, and idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connectors. Next turn off the coolant hose from the Throttle Body and the vapor vent pipe and take off the Throttle Body attaching nus and remove the the Throttle Body with the gasket which must be discarded. It is essential not to soak the Throttle Body in the cold immersion type cleaner as the factory applied sealing compound dag material on the throttle valve and bore prevent air bypass at closed throttle; this material can be eliminated by using strong solvents or brushing. Clean Throttle Body by using a spray type cleaners like gm x 66a or gm p/n 1052626 and a shop towel for heavy deposits being sure that the tp sensor and the iac valves do not touch any solvent or cleaner. Post-cleaning, replace with a new gasket and fasten by tightening the attaching nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Connect the coolant hose to the Throttle Body, and the vapor vent pipe and reconnect the accelerator control cable, cruise control cable, the tp sensor and iac valve's electrical connectors, and the vacuum hose last. Replace the air intake duct, and with the engine off, ensure that the accelerator pedal slides easily by pressing it to the floor and releasing it. Then complete the process by doing idle learn procedure.

    Q:
How to replace the Throttle Body Assembly with Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) on GMC Yukon XL 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To change the Throttle Body assembly into electronic throttle control (ETC), have a careful attitude toward the electronic throttle control while treating it and avoiding damage and contamination. First, identify the 8-digit part of identification number on the casting of the Throttle Body for use when servicing or part replacement. Jack up the vehicle and partially drain the cooling system to take the hoses off the Throttle Body. Decrease the vehicle, and then remove the intake Air Temperature Sensor connector, and keep all openings covered in order to appear free from contamination. Remove the air intake duct, then disconnect throttle actuator motor harness connector, the tp sensor harness connector as well as the crankcase ventilation hose from Throttle Body. Unscrew the Throttle Body attaching bolts and unclasp the coolant hoses before removing the Throttle Body and the gasket, which should be disposed of, and the crankcase ventilation hose and tube inspected for damage. For installation, install a new Throttle Body Gasket, install coolant hoses, and install the Throttle Body assembly with a torque wrench to 10 n.m (88.5 lb in) on the Throttle Body bolts. Reconnect the tp sensor harness connector, and the crankcase ventilation hose, making sure that the throttle actuator motor harness connector, and seal are in place. Mount the air intake duct, then reconnect the intake Air Temperature Sensor harness connector. Refill the cooling system and ensure that vehicle is not in reduced engine power, ignition is on, and engine is off. Use a scan tool to check if the throttle-opening and throttle-closing range test, depress accelerator pedal, pedal should be free to move between close throttle and wide open throttle (WOT), start the engine, and verify if coolant leaks are present.
