Detaching the Throttle Body assembly begins with the deactivation of the negative
Battery Cable. Take the air cleaner resonator off the Throttle Body, then pull the electrical connectors from the idle air control (IAC) valve, and the throttle position (TP) sensor. Unplug the vacuum hoses from the Throttle Body, and the accelerator cable and cruise control cable if available, as well as remove the accelerator cable bracket. Next, remove Throttle Body attaching bolts and throw it out of the
Intake Manifold. Check the Throttle Body Gasket and repair it if it is required before installing the Throttle Body and the accelerator cable bracket. Install the Throttle Body attaching bolts and tighten them at 10nm (89 lb in). The accelerator cable and cruise control cable if necessary should be reattached, and then the vacuum hoses, and finally connect the electrical connectors to the tp sensor and the iac valve. Finally, install the resonator cleaner, check that the accelerator pedal is free by pressing it down to the floor and releasing in with the engine off, install the negative cable, then reset the iac pintle position by adjusting the on/off ignition sequence turning it on and off for ten seconds and starting the engine to check the normal idle operation.
