• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?

  A: To replace the Throttle Body assembly, first, remove the air cleaner resonator, then, remove the idle air control (IAC) valve harness connector and the throttle position (TP) sensor harness connector and the vacuum hoses at the Throttle Body. Next, you will remove the accelerator control bracket and cables from the Throttle Body, then the Throttle Body attaching bolts and studs, and then pull the Throttle Body off the Intake Manifold. For installation or for check, the gasket for Throttle Body and replace it accordingly, then mount the Throttle Body on the Intake Manifold securing with Throttle Body attaching bolts and studs while tightening to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reattach accelerator cable bracket and cables, attach the vacuum hoses to the Throttle Body, reattach tp sensor and iac valve harness connectors. Finally, reconnect the air cleaner resonator and check for the movement of the accelerator after fully depressing and releasing the pedal.
