    Q:
How to service and repair the alternator on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the Alternator begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by belt drive removal and the fuel injector sight shield along with the generator brace and output terminal nut and electrical connector. The servicing process begins by removing the generator's mounting bolts followed by generator extraction. Position the generator on the engine then apply 50 n.m (37 lb ft) torque when tightening the mounting bolts. After connecting the electrical connector install the output terminal nut using 20 n.m (15 lb ft) of tightening force. Set the nut on the generator brace to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) and the bolt to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) while tightening both components during installation. To complete installation you need to reinstall both the fuel injector sight shield and the Drive Belt while also reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
