    Q:
How to replace the fuel filler hose on a Regular Cab with a 26 Gal Tank on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The necessary procedure to change the Fuel Filler Hose on a regular cab with a 26 gal tank begins with removing Fuel Tank filler housing screws and retainer pushpin before disassembling Fuel Tank filler housing bolts from the fill pipe. The vehicle needs elevation to halfway position after removing the Fuel Tank filler housing. The next step requires you to take out the Fuel Tank fill pipe ground wire bolt followed by the removal of the ground wire anti-rotation tab from its frame hole. Open the axle vent hose clip from the fuel fill pipe bracket after which you will remove the rear axle vent hose. Keep the Fuel Tank fill pipe ground wire and chassis harness ground wire in position before the process. To proceed with this task disconnect the fuel fill pipe recirculation line quick connect fitting from the evaporative emission (EVAP) rear hose and loosen the Fuel Tank fill pipe clamp at the Fuel Tank before removing the Fuel Tank fill pipe while capping the Fuel Tank opening to stop contamination. Installation requires users to remove the Fuel Tank opening cap before they position the Fuel Tank fill pipe and tighten the Fuel Tank fill pipe clamp to 2.5 nm (22 lb in). Install the evap rear hose to the fuel fill pipe recirculation line quick connect fitting then place the rear axle vent hose on the clip of the fill pipe bracket and secure the axle hose clip. Secure the chassis harness ground wire together with the Fuel Tank fill pipe ground wire to the frame bracket and install the ground wire anti-rotation tab into the frame hole while tightening the ground wire bolt to 9 nm (80 lb in). Lower the vehicle by positioning the Fuel Tank filler housing along with its installation bolts to the Fuel Tank fill pipe and secure them at 2.3 nm (20 lb in) torque. Secure the torx(R) screws together with the pushpin retainer on the Fuel Tank filler housing by fastening them to a torque of 2.3 nm (20 lb in).
