    Q:
How to Replace a Fuel Filler Hose During Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Replacement on Chevrolet Cobalt? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process starts with fuel fill cap removal along with draining the Fuel Tank. First remove the fuel filler pocket then detach its upper retaining bolt which keeps the fuel filler pipe assembly in place. Support the vehicle and remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent pipe from its connection on the evap canister. The process begins with loosening the Fuel Filler Hose clamp attached to the Fuel Tank and after removing the lower retaining bolt of the fuel filler pipe assembly you can proceed to disconnect the Fuel Filler Hose from the Fuel Tank and finally remove the fuel filler pipe assembly. To install the fuel filler pipe assembly you should first position the component on the vehicle and attach the Fuel Filler Hose to the Fuel Tank. Place the lower retaining bolt on the assembly before tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and follow by tightening the Fuel Filler Hose clamp at the Fuel Tank to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Reposition the evap vent pipe to the evap canister, lower the vehicle in place and tighten the upper retaining bolt of the fuel filler pipe assembly to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Complete the process by putting back the fuel filler pocket then refuel the tank and replace the fuel fill cap.
