    Q:
How to Properly Install a Power Steering Hose on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace a power steering cooler pipe/hose on ly7 vehicles begins with vehicle lifting and removing right-hand tire and wheel assembly then moving onto the steering gear heat shield's snap mechanism. Under the Power Steering Hose-gear junction, set up a drain pan before you disconnect the pressure hose from the power steering gear to remove the power steering cooler pipe from its location on the gear. First disconnect the cooler pipe from its rear/rh cradle clips while the vehicle is at its lowered position before breaking the connection at the power steering return hose. Pull the cooler pipe outside through the inner wheel opening of the vehicle. After positioning the new power steering cooler pipe through the inner wheel opening connect it directly to the power steering return hose. Raising the vehicle requires fastener precautions followed by proper installation of the power steering gear cooler pipe while tightening its fittings to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). Next install the gear power steering pressure hose tightly to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.) before attaching the cooler pipe clips to their cradle position. After installing the steering gear heat shield (snap type) you must reinstall the tire and wheel assembly while discarding the drain pan. The maintenance process requires lowering the vehicle while filling power steering fluid into the system then bleeding it out before leak inspection.

    Q:
How to Replace a Power Steering Hose and Ensure Proper Installation on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of power steering cooler pipe/hose (LY7) starts by raising the vehicle to remove the rh tire and wheel assembly. First remove the steering gear heat shield (snap type) while positioning a drain pan under the vehicle at the Power Steering Hose-to-gear attachment. Start the process by disconnecting the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear before removing the power steering cooler pipe away from the gear. Detach the cooler pipe from its clips located at the rear/rh cradle side before lowering the vehicle down. Proceed by severing the cooler pipe from the power steering return hose after which you can easily remove it via the inner wheel opening. The new power steering cooler pipe installation requires inserting it through the inner wheel opening before attaching it to the power steering return hose. Position the vehicle height at its recommended height before fastening the power steering cooler pipe to the steering gear while securing the cooler pipe fitting at 27 n.m (20 lb ft). Secure the power steering pressure hose to the gear by tightening it to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). At this time also reconnect the cooler pipe retaining clips to their mountings on the cradle. Replace the steering gear heat shield over the machinery while setting the tire and wheel base back onto position. The draining pan must be removed followed by vehicle lowering before adding power steering fluid into the system and performing the bleeding procedure then inspecting for any fluid leakage.
