    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by elevating the vehicle before you clean all dirt and extraneous materials from both brake hoses and brake pipe fittings. You should install rubber caps or plugs on the exposed brake pipe fitting ends to stop brake fluid leakage and contamination. Lock a spare wrench onto the hose fitting to remove brake pipe fittings from the junction block. Afterward secure each brake pipe fitting end with caps or plugs while maintaining both brake pipe and bracket alignment. First disconnect the brake pipe fitting then remove the brake hose retaining clip followed by the junction block bolt until you can remove the rear brake hose. Fitting processes start by adding the rear brake hose before installing the junction block bolt and using 17 Nm (13 ft.lb.) torque for tightening. Install the brake hose retaining clip first and then attach the brake pipe fitting while tightening it to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). Tighten the rear brake pipe connection fittings to the junction block at 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) using a back up wrench. Check for suspension contact by examining the hose during extreme right and left turning maneuvers. The hose needs to be removed and the necessary corrections made if contact with the suspension occurs. Drain the hydraulic brake fluid while lowering down the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the front brake line on an A4WD on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before working on the a4wd front brake hose replace cycle start by securely lifting and stability the vehicle. When working on the brake system install rubber plugs in exposed brake pipe fittings to protect against fluid loss and pollution. Place a back up wrench on the hose end to remove the brake pipe fitting while you seal its open end afterward. Pull the brake hose retaining clip off the mounting bracket before taking the hose out of its position. Unscrew the brake hose to caliper bolt (a) from the brake caliper unit before detaching the brake hose from the caliper. Get rid of the 2 used copper gaskets from the brake hose since they may be stuck to the brake caliper or end ports. When installing use new copper brake hose gaskets and connect them to the brake hose bolt alongside following safe fastener procedures. Install new brake caliper washers and attach the brake hose to its bolt. Tighten the bolt to 44 nm while making sure the hose is not twisted and keeps clear of suspension components. Under the vehicle weight position fix the brake hose in place at the bracket then attach the hose retainer onto its fitting. Insert the brake pipe fitting end of the hose into the exposed unit and secure it with a back up wrench. Keep the bracket and pipe straight while tightening the fitting nut to 17 nm. Check that the brake hose stays away from suspension components during intense right and left turns. Replace the hose if necessary and solve the issue properly. Finish the procedure by letting air out of the hydraulic brake lines then lower the vehicle.
