    Q:
How to service the fuel filler hose on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
A technician must first let the fuel pressure drop before elevating the vehicle while servicing the hose at the Fuel Tank inlet. Begin the service by opening fuel clamp connectors at the Fuel Tank as well as fuel filler pipe before you extract the Fuel Filler Hose. The technician needs to first separate the fuel filler pipe from the underbody by removing its attaching screw then take off both screws from the access panel before removing the fuel filler pipe. Reinstall the fuel filler pipe along with its screws onto the access panel while tightening them to 10 n.m (8 lb ft). Secure the underbody screw as well as the fuel filler pipe vapor recirculation line at 10 n.m (8 lb ft). Position the Fuel Filler Hose correctly on the Fuel Tank port and fuel filler pipe then tighten the tank port clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Place the clamp correctly on the tank port adjacent to the bead while tightening Fuel Tank filler hose clamps to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). After lowering the vehicle users must tighten the fuel filler cap followed by Battery Cable reinstallation. To check for fuel system leaks turn the ignition switch on for 2 seconds, then off for 10 seconds and on again before examining for leaks.
