    Q:
How to replace the Power Steering Hose Outlet on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the replacement of the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose by elevating the vehicle and then removing the front air deflector. A drain pan should be placed under the vehicle after which you must remove the retaining bolt securing the power steering gear outlet hose to the frame and disconnect the hose from the Power Steering Cooler. The first step requires removing power steering lines from their power steering gear retaining bolt and performing a disconnect between the power steering gear outlet hose and power steering gear. Take out the power steering return line from the motor vehicle. Start by installing the power steering gear outlet hose toward the vehicle before securing it to the power steering gear. Put the power steering hoses on the power steering gear retaining bolt and fasten it to a torque of 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.) while following the fastener notice in service precautions. After attaching the power steering gear outlet hose to the Power Steering Cooler you need to mount its frame retaining bolt with 4 nm (40 inch lbs.) torque. Complete the procedure by removing the drain pan followed by front air deflector reinstallation and lowering the vehicle then bleeds the power steering system.
