How to replace the floor shift knob on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of the floor Shift Knob begins with releasing the boot from the Shift Knob through downward pull of the boot retainer. The first step involves disconnecting the Shift Knob retaining screw then pulling the Shift Knob off from its position on the shift control. The Shift Knob installation process requires fitting it against the shift control first while following safe fastener guidance. Next install the Shift Knob retaining screw with 4 nm force (35 lb in) before you replug the boot into the console.
