Position the shift lever seal on top of the narrow shift lever assembly base before reinstalling it to the Steering Column. The shift lever screw requires installation into the shift lever assembly and requires torquing to 1.5 nm (13 inch lbs.). To install the shift lever system, allow the sir system to function while simultaneously sliding the shift lever seal down the shift lever assembly and then reinstall the upper and lower trim covers if needed and align the shift lever seal into the Steering Column trim covers.
