Handle, Outside, Driver Side

The first step to replace the rear outside Door Handle requires the window to be completely raised. Commence by taking out the door trim panel followed by removing the push-in retainer on the rear of the water deflector. You must pull the water deflector from the door panel to reach the outside Door Handle. Detach the outside Door Handle rod through the process of opening the door latch retainer. Start by removing the screw which keeps the outside Door Handle cap in place and by removing the plug that provides access to the cap screw. Open the Door Handle to its mild extent to pull off the cap as you lift and tilt the outside Door Handle counterbalance weight then move the handle toward the chassis to uninstall it. After sliding the outside Door Handle bracket backward you can remove the gaskets followed by the handle rod from the bracket. Put on the handle rod to the outside Door Handle bracket while inserting the bracket into the opening then push it forward. Place the gaskets first and then raise the counterbalance weight of the Door Handle before tilting the handle backwards toward the bracket for insertion. Push the handle forward while hearing the clicking sound to complete installation. After slightly opening the Door Handle you can place the cap before sealing it with its screw and installing the cap screw access plug. To link the handle rod with the latch you must put it into the clip which is found on the Door Latch Assembly while you close the clip. Check that the Door Handle functions correctly before reinstalling the water deflector alone with the door trim panel. Put on the water deflector then place the door trim panel in position.

Insert the rod into the clip on the door latch assembly and close the clip.

Attach the handle rod to the outside door handle bracket.
