How to remove and install the cruise control module on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the Cruise Control Module, in case the car does not have traction control, rotate the throttle lever rearward, pushing down the cable end to disengage it from the throttle lever pin as well as use the flat bladed tool to push in the cable retainer of the crash Throttle Body bracket and slide the cruise control cable up from the Throttle Body bracket and hold the retainer and cable off the car. If equipped with traction control, unsnap and remove cruise control servo cable adjuster cover, rotate upper cam and remove cruise control cable slug from servo cable adjuster, then come out and unsnap locking tab and remove sled from slot. Place the Throttle Body end of the cruise control cable close to the Cruise Control Module, lift and support the car, take left front bumper fascia lower deflector off and then unfasten the Cruise Control Module bracket bolts. Next, you will need to remove the Cruise Control Module and bracket from the left side engine compartment outer rail and unsnap its cover, remove the electrical connector retainer and then remove the Cruise Control Module electrical connector and unbolt the cable locking retainer from the module. Compress the conduit tangs and pull out the cruise control cable from the module and unhook the cable bead from the module ribbon and place the module and bracket on a work surface. Take out the Cruise Control Module to bracket bolts to remove the module from the bracket. For installation, fix the Cruise Control Module onto the bracket through fixing the Cruise Control Module bolts and tightening the bolts to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Check the cable end to confirm the o-ring is present, pull the Throttle Body end of the cable until taut connecting the cable bead to the module ribbon rotating the cable end if required straightening the ribbon, shove the cable fitting end over the ribbon snap in the cable end to the module and the assure the conduit western tangs are in use. Insert the cable locking retainer over the module, hook the Cruise Control Module electrical connector, and install the electrical connector retainer. Position the Cruise Control Module cover over the cable and bracket by snapping on the cover to the flanges on the bracket install the Cruise Control Module and bracket to the lhs engine compartment outer rail and tighten the Cruise Control Module bracket bolts to the rail to 10 n. M (89 lb in) and the bracket bolt to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Pull the Throttle Body end of cruise control cable to the Throttle Body. Install left front bumper fascia lower deflector, and lower the vehicle. If equipped with traction control, spin the upper cad and install the cruise control cable slug to the servo not work adjuster, plane the cruise control cabin at coffer sled to the slot and make sure the hindering tag is pulled to thigh, and push down the cruise come master's servo copper inflict cover and push it down and snap into position. If not provided with traction control, push the throttle lever rearward, break the end of the cruise control cable to the throttle lever, align the cable, slide it on the slot with the locking tab pulled in, and adjust the cruise control cable to the desired length.

    Q:
How to replace the cruise control module on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by rotating the throttle lever to the rear position followed by pushing down the cable end from the throttle lever pin and pushing a flat bladed tool into the Throttle Body bracket retainer to disengage the cruise control cable from under the accelerator and cruise control cable servo bracket. Vehicles without traction control require this procedure first. Start by removing the servo cable adjuster cover when traction control is present through upper cam rotation and locking tab unsnap followed by cable removal from the slot. Before installation secure the Throttle Body end of the cruise control cable near the Cruise Control Module then maintain the vehicle in the raised position and detach the left front bumper fascia lower deflector. Start by removing the rotation point bracket bolts then extract the Cruise Control Module and bracket from left side engine compartment outer rail. Unsnap the Cruise Control Module cover followed by removing the electrical connector retainer to disconnect the Cruise Control Module electrical connector. Extract the cable locking retainer from the module then compress its conduit tangs to free the cruise control cable through the module as the cable bead detaches from the ribbon inside the module. Place the module-bracket pair on a work surface while you remove the Cruise Control Module brackets then detach the module from its bracket. Put the Cruise Control Module onto the bracket before installing its bolts with 5 n.m (44 lb in) torque. Initiate cable end inspection to confirm o-ring placement then pull Throttle Body cable tension until it is taut before connecting the cable bead to the module ribbon and rotating the cable end as needed to straighten the ribbon before pushing the cable fitting over the ribbon and snapping the module connection while confirming conduit tang alignment. You must first install the cable locking retainer onto the module before connecting the Cruise Control Module electrical connector along with its retainer. Route the Cruise Control Module cover over the bracket and cable before snapping the bracket flanges closed to install the Cruise Control Module against left side engine compartment outer rail. Then tighten the Cruise Control Module bracket bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and the Cruise Control Module bracket bolt to 2 n.m (18 lb in). After installing the left front bumper fascia deflector, raise the vehicle back up then route the Throttle Body cable to its destination. Install the circuit control cable slug to the servo adjuster but first install the upper cam. Guide the cable into the slot with caution to verify the locking tab latches while lowering the servo cover onto its place. Installation of the cruise control cable without traction control requires you to first rotate the throttle lever toward the rear before snapping its end to the throttle lever and sliding the cable onto the correct slot with the locking tab secured.
