    The ABS Control Module (ABSCM) requires complete replacement as a single unit instead of repair because it cannot be fixed. First turn OFF the ignition key then elevate the vehicle. Start by wiping away dust from the area surrounding the ABSCM Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) through the removal of the air deflection shield and left front fascia extension before working with ABS components. Clean all debris from the surrounding area of ABSCM/BPMV and then disassemble the mounting bracket nuts and lower ABSCM to BPMV bolts. Disconnect the ABSCM connector when the vehicle is at its lowest position although maintaining a specific distance from the ignition switch to avoid contact. The service procedure requires careful separation of the ABSCM from the BPMV by first eliminating the front insulator with its bolt until the 2 upper ABSCM to BPMV bolts are removed while avoiding direct ABSCM-BPMV separation with force. Gently forward movement lets the ABSCM separate from the BPMV without harming the seal interface. To install the new ABSCM you must use denatured alcohol to clean the seal and BPMV gasket surface before placing the ABSCM onto the BPMV with loose application of the 2 upper ABSCM to BPMV bolts. Complete installation involves raising the vehicle once more to add and torque the 2 lower ABSCM to BPMV bolts to 5 Nm (40 inch lbs.). Proceed with installing the front insulator along with its mounting bolt then tighten the fastener to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.) before screwing the 3 assembly bracket nuts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). After installing the air deflector shield together with left front fascia extension lower the vehicle. The ABS Diagnostic System Check should be executed after you install the ABSCM electrical connector with tab locked down and then tighten the 2 upper ABSCM to BPMV bolts to 5 Nm (40 inch lbs.).
