Muffler & Pipe, Driver Side

Start the Muffler service by raising and supporting the vehicle. Detach the bolts from the rear stabilizer shaft and remove its nuts and clamps before setting the stabilizer shaft into its downward direction. The Muffler must be detached from the Muffler hanger by removing intermediate Exhaust Pipe-to-rear Exhaust Pipe bolts. Before removing the Muffler from the vehicle you must first detach the right-hand Muffler hanger along with its attached fuel tank shield bolt and nut and shield. Start by attaching the Muffler to your vehicle before you progress. Install the fuel tank shield along with its bolt and nut on the right-hand side followed by tightening the fuel tank shield nut to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). Before tightening the bolt reach 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) with a torque wrench. Nuts on the Muffler hanger require tightening to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs. Yield torque). Install the Muffler onto the Muffler hanger and join the rear Exhaust Pipe to the intermediate Exhaust Pipe while torquing the intermediate Exhaust Pipe-to-rear Exhaust Pipe bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle to install clamps and bolts and nuts on the rear stabilizer shaft crossmember.
