The first step to change an A/C Orifice Tube requires collecting all refrigerant from the system. You should first remove the evaporator hose from the accumulator cover before starting to loosen the fitting at the A/C Orifice Tube location until you can separate the hose at that point. You should remove the A/C Orifice Tube from the evaporator hose before discarding the O-rings which are installed on the hose. The evaporator hose installation requires an O-ring followed by the new A/C Orifice Tube placement while verifying that the short screen and arrow need to face the evaporator. Fasten the evaporator hose fitting with 24 N.m torque force (18 lb ft). Transfer the evaporator hose over the accumulator cover and use a firm press to activate it. Evacuate along with recharging the A/C framework then scan the fittings of the A/C component using the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).

Lubricate the O-ring with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

Remove the A/C evaporator hose from the retaining clips and separate it at the expansion tube location before removing the expansion tube from the line.

Lubricate the O-ring with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil, ensuring that the short screen faces toward the evaporator during installation.

Connect the A/C evaporator tube, tightening the dual O-ring joint nut to 24 N.m (18 lb ft), and then secure the A/C evaporator tube to the retaining clips.
