Door Actuator

In order to replace the defroster actuator, first remove the right instrument panel insulator panel and the i/p compartment. Next, remove the screws from the relay bracket and set it away. Unplug the two vacuum lines from the defroster actuator, and the orange vacuum line from the recirculator actuator, and apply it with a foot Vacuum Pump. Take off the defroster actuator from the case of the hvac module and using the hand Vacuum Pump, you will open up the door of the recirculation actuator all the way. Swing the defroster actuator to the right and up into the gap behind the dash and the hvac module opening, then remove it from the arm of the defroster door. For installation, insert the defroster actuator to the defroster door arm and snap it into the hvac module. Connect the vacuum line to the actuator, remove the hand Vacuum Pump, and reconnect the vacuum line to the actuation to recirculation. Screw the relay bracket and tight it to 1.0 n.m (89 lb-in) and install the i/p compartment and a right instrument insulator panel.

To replace the left air temperature actuator, one should begin with removal of the left side sound insulator, removal of knee bolster and Instrument Panel Module (IPM). Before you remove the actuator of air temperature, remove the retaining screws and disconnect the electrical connector from the air temperature actuator. For installation, place the new air temperature actuator and mount the driver air throughput retaining screws with a tightening stringency of 1.4 N.m (12 lb in). Replace the electrical connector back to actuator, re-install the IPM, knee bolster, and left side sound insulator. Finally, recalibrate the actuator.

In order to replace the auxiliary air temperature actuator , initially remove the right rear quarter trim panel and reap the electrical connector from the actuator. Next, unscrew the retaining screws holding the actuator in place in the rear auxiliary HVAC module, and remove the actuator from the rear auxiliary HVAC module. For installation, mount the actuator onto the auxiliary HVAC module and fasten it to the module with the retaining screws, which should be torqued to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). After that, reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator and reinstall the right rear quarter trim panel.

Start by removing the right rear quarter trim panel then disconnecting the actuator's electrical connector. Before withdrawing the actuator you must remove the retaining screws that secure it. During the removal process step the actuator out from the rear auxiliary HVAC module. Mount the new actuator onto the auxiliary HVAC module then fasten it with retaining screws using a torque of 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). Reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator before placing back the right rear quarter trim panel.

Initial step to change the right air temperature actuator is to remove the I/P carrier. Remove the screws mounting the actuator and disconnect the electrical connector from the right air temp actuator. Remove the right air temperature actuator from theHVAC module assembly. For installation, install the right air temperature actuator back into the hvac module assembly and fasten with screws, pulling them together to an in-lbs (N.m) torque of 18 (2). Connect back the electrical connector to the right air temperature actuator and the I/P carrier has to be reinstalled. Lastly, reprogram the air temperature actuator.

In order to replace the defroster actuator at the bottom left side of hvac module, remove left side instrument panel & bottom left ip instrument panel sound insulator. First, disconnect the vacuum connector from the defroster actuator , remove actuator rod retaining clip, as well as the actuator rod , from the defroster door lever. Hold a firm grip on the defroster actuator and pull it off the hvac module. For installation place the defrost actuator so that the retaining tab locks in place and install the actuator rod to the defroster door lever and secure it using the actuator rod retaining clip. Reconnect the vacuum connector back to the defroster actuator and reinstall the lower ip instrument panel sound insulator and reinstall the left side instrument panel sound insulator.

To replace the left air temperature actuator, start by the removal of the front floor kick-up panel and the bose module. Disconnect the inside air temperature sensor aspirator duct by pressing the duct retaining tab outward and twising it until it can be removed from the ignition switch housing bracket and the duct muffler. Now, loosen the inside air temperature sensor aspirator duct muffler by a twisting action. Air temperature actuator electrical connectors and then removes the screws fixing the air temperature actuator and removes the actuator. To install, set the new air temperature actuator in place, align the slots of the actuator driver with the flats of the temperature door shaft, and slide the actuator onto the shaft, making sure the actuator locating hole line-ups with the forward alignment pin on the hvac module case. The actuator should be flush to the mounting holes against the hvac module case. Mount the temperature actuator retaining screws and tighten them to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in) and hookup the air temperature actuator electric connector. Reinstall the inside air temperature sensor aspirator duct muffler and fasten it by twisting motion, followed by the aspirator duct, noting to twist it to secure it to the duct muffler and install duct retaining tab to the ignition switch housing bracket. Lastly, replace the bose amplifier along with the front floor kick-up panel. It is essential to re-calibrate the HVAC Control Module if the actuator is replaced and uninstall the hvac con Fuse.

The first step to replace the right air temperature actuator involves removing the I/P carrier before disconnecting the electrical connector from the actuator. Start by unscrewing the actuator from its position in the HVAC module assembly following screw removal. Follow the Fastener Notice while placing the new actuator inside the HVAC module assembly before tightening screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in). First reconnect the actuator's electrical connector, reinstall the I/P carrier followed by air temperature actuator reprogramming (if needed).

Imagine the following steps to replace the right air temperature actuator: start by removing the I/P carrier followed by disconnecting the electrical connector from the actuator. The actuator can be extracted from the HVAC module assembly after removing the screws which secure it. The new actuator should be positioned within the HVAC module assembly before installing its screws while tightening them to 2 N.m (18 lb in). Return the electrical connector to the actuator device before reattaching the I/P carrier and reprogramming the actuator when necessary.

First, one has to pull out the IP insulator, in order to replace the air temperature actuator. Next, you have to disconnect the electrical connection from air temperature actuator and pull out retaining screws for the actuator. After the actuator is removed, install the new air temperature actuator paying attention to the Fastener Notice according to the Service Precautions on the right manner of installation. Fasten the actuator with the retaining screws, making sure that they are screwed to the value of 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). Then reconnect the elettrical connector back to the air ttemperature actuator and lastly reinstall IP insulator.

In order to replace the defroster actuator, you will need to remove the cross vehicle beam and detached the vacuum lines that connect with the defroster vacuum actuator. Rotate the defroster valve lever fully to the rearward (counterclockwise) direction and pry up the defrost valve lever leverage (with great care) using a screwdriver between the face at the bottom of the defrost valve lever and the wall of the hvac module case below the valve lever to retain it in its position. Lift to release the defroster vacuum actuator retaining tab; then very gently rotate the defroster vacuum actuator upward and forward to release it from the HVAC module case. Remove the vacuum actuator pushrod from the defrost lever and take the vacuum actuator away. For installation, attach the vacuum actuator pushrod to the defrost valve lever, and work through it rearward and down to slot the actuator slots with the HVAC module case and push the vacuum actuator into the HVAC module to set the retaining tab. Lastly, hook up the vacuum lines on the defroster vacuum actuator and install the cross vehicle beam back.

Initial services to the Air Inlet Actuator, start with pushing upward on the J spring, until the release of storage compartment door and pull rearward to unlock the recirculator, pointing, that recirculator door lever is behind air distribution ducting. Secondly, take away the actuator rod from the recirculation door lever by pushing upward and to the left, as well as the vacuum connector from the recirculation actuator. For installation, attach the vacuum connector to the recirculation actuator while the recirculation door lever is back behind the air distribution duct. Install the actuator rod to the recirculation door lever, aligning the hole in the actuator rod with the hook on the lever; line up the recirculation actuator with the recirculation valve assembly, and firmly press forward to capture the locking tab. Last, push upwards on the J spring in order to put the storage compartment door back in the normal place.

To replace the left air temperature actuator, remove the I/P insulator panel first. Remove the left air temperature actuator by disconnecting the electrical connector and removing the screws that hold them. Remove the left air temperature actuator and remove from the HVAC list module assembly. For installation, relocate the left air temperature actuator back to the HVAC module assembly and fasten it using screws with a compressing torque of 2 N.m (18 lb ft). Replace the electrical connectors to the left air temperature actuator and replace the I/P insulator panel. Finally, reset the air temperature actuator.

There is an air temperature actuator on the right-hand side of the heater/vent module on top. Start by removing the instrument panel carrier, disconnecting the electric connector and removing the retaining screws on the air temperature actuator. Remove the actuator from the heater/vent module and install a new actuator making sure that the actuator is seated on the locating tab, insert the retaining screws and fasten it in position to 1.9 n.m (17 lb ft). Restore the electrical connector and install the instrument panel carrier back. To activate the air temperature actuator of vehicles with automatic climate control (C68), the ignition switch should be turned elsewhere to off, then removed the Fuse rdo batt for 10 sec, restore the Fuse and ignite the ignition switch on to make sure the actuator runs in hot and cold phase. Lastly, do a heater output temperature check.

To change the defroster actuator remove it from the bottom left side of hvac module. Start by separating the left side instrument panel sound insulator and the lower ip instrument panel sound insulator. Next, disconnecting the vacuum connector from the defroster actuator, removing a retain clip and actuator rod from the defroster door lever. Carefully pry the defroster actuator off the hvac module. For installation, locate the new defroster actuator and find the retaining tab that locks it in place and attach the actuator rod to the defroster door lever and secure with the actuator rod retaining clip. Connect back the vacuum connector to defroster actuator, and then install the lower ip instrument panel sound insulator, left side instrument panel sound insulator as well.

Start by unscrewing the actuator from its position in the HVAC module assembly following screw removal. Follow the Fastener Notice while placing the new actuator inside the HVAC module assembly before tightening screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in). Disconnect the defroster actuator from the defroster door arm.

Position the new air temperature actuator and install the passenger air mix retaining screws, tightening them to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).

Position the new actuator and secure it with the retaining screws, tightening them to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).

First, remove the right side instrument panel insulator and the instrument panel compartment.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the driver air mix actuator and remove the retaining screws to take out the actuator.

Position the new actuator, ensuring the slots in the electric actuator driver align with the flats on the shaft and the locating hole aligns with the alignment pin on the HVAC module case.

Tighten them to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in) as per the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Remove the passenger air mix actuator.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the air temperature actuator.

Remove the bolts and nut, turn the relay block, and disconnect the upper electrical connectors.

Next, remove the retaining screws and take out the air temperature actuator.

Position the new right air temperature actuator and secure it with the retaining screws, tightening them to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).

Reinstall the DIM module into the bracket, followed by the right sound insulator and the IP compartment.

Install a hand vacuum pump.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator.

Remove the screws securing the defroster actuator and take out the actuator itself.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the left air temperature actuator.

Remove the left side sound insulator, knee bolster, and instrument panel module (IPM).

First, remove the left instrument panel insulator and the knee bolster.

Position the new actuator, ensuring the slots in the electric actuator driver align with the flats on the shaft and the locating hole aligns with the alignment pin on the HVAC module case.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator, then reinstall the IPM, knee bolster, and left side sound insulator.

Position the right air temperature actuator, aligning the slots in the electric actuator driver to the flats on the shaft and the locating hole to the alignment on the HVAC module case.

First, remove the right sound insulator.

Disconnect the vacuum actuator pushrod from the defrost valve lever and remove the vacuum actuator.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the left air temperature actuator and reinstall the I/P insulator panel.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the driver air mix actuator.

Reinstall the left side sound insulator and recalibrate the actuators.

Position the new actuator back into the HVAC module assembly and secure it with screws, tightening them to 2 N.m (18 lb in) as per the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Begin by removing the right instrument panel insulator and the instrument panel compartment.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the driver air mix actuator.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the auxiliary air temperature actuator and remove the retaining screws securing it.

Reconnect the electrical connector and reinstall the instrument panel carrier.

Disconnect the vacuum harness connectors from the defroster actuator.

Carefully rotate the actuator upward and forward until it clears the passenger SIR bracket, then disconnect the pushrod from the defrost door lever and remove the actuator.

Rotate the air inlet valve lever fully forward (clockwise) to extend the actuator plunger and hold it in place.

Secure it with a twisting motion, followed by the aspirator duct, ensuring to twist and secure it to the duct muffler.

Begin by removing the upper trim panel and the defroster duct.

Position the temperature valve electric actuator, aligning the slots in the electric actuator driver with the flats on the temperature valve shaft.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator, then reinstall the instrument panel compartment and the right side instrument panel insulator.

Ensure the slots in the electric actuator driver align with the flats on the shaft and the locating hole aligns with the alignment pin on the HVAC module case.

Slide the actuator onto the shaft until the actuator driver seats completely and the mounting holes are flush with the mounting screws on the HVAC module case.

Position the new actuator, ensuring the slots in the electric actuator driver align with the flats on the shaft and the locating hole aligns with the alignment pin on the HVAC module case.

Reinstall the IP compartment and the right IP insulator.

Attach the defroster actuator to the defroster door arm and snap it into place on the HVAC module.

First, remove the right side instrument panel (I/P) insulator and the I/P compartment.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the left air temperature actuator and remove its mounting screws.

Install the bolts to the temperature valve electric actuator, tightening them to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

Reconnect the vacuum connector to the defroster actuator, followed by reinstalling the lower IP instrument panel sound insulator and the left side instrument panel sound insulator.

Tighten them to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) insulator and the knee bolster bracket.

Install the retaining screws and tighten them to 1.9 N.m (17 lb ft).

Reinstall the IP compartment and the right IP insulator.

Reinstall the IP insulator.

Begin by removing the upper trim panel and the defroster duct.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the right air temperature actuator and remove the two screws retaining it.

Connect the electrical connector to the actuator and recalibrate it.

Remove the right rear quarter trim panel.

Take out the air temperature actuator from the rear HVAC module.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the defroster actuator.

The vacuum connector should be disconnected from the defroster actuator.

Reconnect the electrical connector and reinstall the I/P carrier.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator and reinstall the I/P carrier.

Position the new defroster actuator and secure it with the screws, tightening them to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).

Remove the actuator rod retaining clip and the actuator rod from the defroster valve lever.

Remove the retaining screws securing the air temperature actuator to the rear HVAC module and take out the actuator.

Position the new actuator and secure it with the retaining screws, tightening them to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).

Reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator and then reinstall the I/P carrier.

Remove the instrument panel carrier and disconnect the electrical connector.

Take out the retaining screws for the right side air temperature actuator and disconnect its electrical connector.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the left air temperature actuator and remove the screws securing it.

Take out the auxiliary air temperature actuator from the rear auxiliary HVAC module.

Reprogram the air temperature actuator following the procedures for actuator recalibration.
