How to replace the defroster Blend Door Actuator on 2002 Chevrolet Impala?

To change the defroster actuator, start with the removal of the right instrument panel (IP) insulator and the ip compartment. Disconnect the two vacuum lines going to the defroster actuator and the orange vacuum line to the recirculation actuator and use a hand Vacuum Pump to ease the task. Remove the defroster actuator from the hvac module case and applying the hand Vacuum Pump, unlock the door of actuator of recirculation. Turn the defroster actuator to the right and up into the opening between the back of the dash and the hvac module, which can be viewed when the actuator door for the recirculation is fully opened. Remove the defroster actuator and disengage it from the actuator door arm. For installation, connect the defroster actuator to the defroster door arm and snap into the location on the hvac module. Apply the vacuum line to the actuator, and take out the hand Vacuum Pump and reapply the vacuum line to the recirculation actuator. Finally, put back the ip compartment and the right ip insulator.
