How to service and repair the defroster Blend Door Actuator on 2003 Chevrolet Impala?

To service and repair defroster actuator, start by removing the right instrument panel (IP) insulator and ip compartment. Remove the two vacuum lines from the defroster actuator and the orange vacuum line from the recirculation actuator, and connect a hand Vacuum Pump. Unfasten the defroster actuator from its mounting onto the hvac module case and, using the hand Vacuum Pump, open the recirculation actuator door. Turn the defroster actuator to the right and upward into the hole between the rear side of the dash and the hvac unit, which is visible when the recirculation actuator door is opened fully. Remove the defroster actuator from the defroster door arm. For installation, snap the defroster actuator onto the defroster door arm and snap into the hvac module. Connect the vacuum line to actuator, take off the hand Vacuum Pump off the work and replace the vacuum link to the recirculation actuator. Lastly, replace the right ip compartment and the right ip insulator.
