- Q: How to replace the defroster Blend Door Actuator on 2004 Chevrolet Corvette?A: To replace the defroster actuator, start by removing the I/P upper trim pad. Remove the RH side window defogger lower outlet duct from the holder of the windshield defroster duct and move the side window defogger duct more forward. Remove the vacuum harness connectors from the defroster actuator. Rotate the defrost door lever fully rearward counterclockwise, then gently use a flat bladed tool to insert it between bottom of the defrost door lever and protruding wall of the HVAC module case below the door lever to keep it in place. Raise to free the defroster actuator retaining tab and move the actuator into the passenger SIR bracket. Carefully rotate the actuator up and forward to clear the passenger SIR bracket and disconnect the actuator pushrod from the defrost door lever and remove the actuator. For installation, connect the defroster actuator pushrod to defrost door lever, place the actuator alongside passenger SIR bracket align with the mounting pins on the HVAC module case, rotate the actuator past the passenger SIR bracket, rearward and downward till the actuator slots align with the HVAC module pins. Pull off the vacuum harness connectors from the defroster actuator, pull off flat bladed tool from defrost door lever then push defrost door lever, insert the retaininfg tab into the slot of the HV/C module case then install I/P upper trim pad, install the RH side window defogger lower outlet duct, attach the windshield defroster duct. Finally, recalibrate the actuators.
