A: The IP insulator must be removed first before proceeding with air temperature actuator replacement. Start by removing the electrical connector from the air temperature actuator and after that take out the retaining screws. The new air temperature actuator requires installation followed by securement with retaining screws to a torque of 1.6 N.m (14 lb in) according to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. After installing the new air temperature actuator secure it with the retaining screws and reconnect the electrical connector to the air temperature actuator . Then replace the IP insulator.
