Seat Back Pad

The first step for replacing the rear seat back cushion requires removal of the upper trunk trim. Begin by separating the upper retaining nuts attached to the rear seat back and follow this step by taking off the rear seat cushion. The procedure requires removing the center Seat Belt components while detaching the shoulder belt buckle nut and placing the center shoulder belt on the rear shelf panel. Tear off the lower seat back retaining nuts on one hand while pulling out on the top of the rear seat back seat with the other hand until the rear shoulder belts can be removed safely from the seat area. Place the new rear seat back into the vehicle space after you take out the rear seat back. The seat back studs should receive upper retaining nuts which should be tightened to 9 nm (80 lb in). The installation process begins with fitting the upper trunk trim before tightening both rear seat back retaining nuts to 30 nm (22 lb ft). Also verify proper Seat Belt buckles placement and clear bolt threads and holes of sealer patch material. Below the sequence to install the center Seat Belt and shoulder belt buckle anchor nut involves tightening them to 30 nm (22 lb ft) before reinstalling the rear seat cushion.

Push down and rearward to secure the cushion into the latches in the number 4 bar.

Position the rear seat buckles into the slots of the rear seat cushion and push down and rearward to secure the cushion into the latches in the number 4 bar.

Install the center seat belt and shoulder belt buckle anchor nut, tightening to 30 Nm (22 lb ft), and reinstall the rear seat cushion.

Position the rear seat buckles in the slots of the cushion and push down and rearward to secure it into the latches in the number 4 bar.

Pull up on the front of the rear seat cushion.
