    Q:
How to replace the evaporator outlet A/C hose on Chevrolet Tracker? Posted by Customer
    A:
Refrigerant recovery and discharge operations need to occur first before changing the evaporator outlet tube. Start by taking out the front grille with the air cleaner hose before sliding the evap canister from its bracket. Take off the bolt from the expansion valve while rotating the plate counterclockwise to detach the evaporator outlet tube from the expansion valve. Start by uninstalling the fitting located on the compressor suction pipe and detach the two bolts mounting the evaporator outlet tube hold-down retainers. Pull out the evaporator outlet tube from its mounting position on the vehicle body retainers before removing it from the vehicle. New o-rings coated with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil need to be installed before the evaporator outlet tube is put back into the vehicle so it can be secured to the body mounted retainers and the expansion valve. The plate should be slid in a clockwise direction and the bolt must be tightened to 35 n.m (26 lb ft) torque value. Secure the evaporator outlet tube to the compressor suction hose through a fitting whose torque should be set at 35 n.m (26 lb ft). First reinstall both bolts onto the evaporator outlet tube hold-down retainers before putting back the evap canister along with the air cleaner hose and front grille assembly. Evacuation and recharging of the air conditioning system will follow before performing a refrigerant leak test through system operation.
