In order to replace the Radiator Grille Emblem on one of the Envoy cars, take the grill off and lay it on a clean prepared surface. Then, undo the emblem retaining nuts, and pull off the emblem from grille. For the installation, attach the emblem to the grille but remember to read the Fastener Notice and then install the nuts which retain the emblem and tighten it to 3 N.m (27 lb in). Finally, reinstall the grille.

Install new Radiator Grille Emblem/Nameplate elements by taking off the Envoy grille and setting it on a smooth surface. Detach the emblem retaining nuts and pull the emblem out of the grille space. Affix the emblem to the grille taking care to follow the Fastener Notice and fasten it using the retaining nuts before tightening them to 3 N.m (27 lb in). Finally, reinstall the grille.

One needs a combination of tools to replace the endgate emblem and nameplate starting with these essential components: The technical tools required include a Heat Gun (J 25070) as well as a 3M TM Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk with part number 07501. First tape should be placed around the endgate emblem area for protection and alignment. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the heat gun (J 25070) with its nozzle 152 mm (6 in) from the surface for 30 seconds while moving in circular motions. To detach the endgate emblem/remove nameplate professionals should use a plastic flat-bladed tool then erase residual adhesive from both endgate surfaces and emblem/back using adhesive remover disks (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Wash the endgate surface using varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha chemicals. Apply tape for guidance in unmarked areas. Use the heat gun (J 25070) to heat the endgate panel surface up to at least 21°C (70°F) without touching the emblem/nameplate adhesive layer. Press the front section of the emblem/nameplate onto the endgate panel as you proceed with removing its backing. Begin hand rolling the emblem/nameplate for adequate adhesion while checking for bonding until all tape enclosing the endgate emblem can be fully removed.

Before installing the new emblem work on a clean surface that is free of debris particles. First use flash naphtha or an IPA and water mixture to wipe and dry the surface where you will mount the new emblem. Control the body parts at 27-41°C (80-105°F) and adjust them when needed while managing the emblem temperature between 29-32°C (80-90°F) using minimal heat application. Take off the protective covering from the emblem. Press appliques onto the body with 3-10 lb force and follow it with 0.005 inch thick clear plastic to activate 75% of the adhesive using high pressure. Include all emblem pieces on their designated spots before pressing them hard to achieve full vehicle attachment.

When fixing the body emblem or nameplate you will need a Heat Gun with model number J 25070. Clean the designated mounting surface first using a 50% alcohol and 50% water solution before the start to ready it for proper adhesive connection. Wait until the flat surface and trim items reach an interior environment temperature between 60 to 90°F (17 to 32°C) before finishing the drying process. Warm the back side of moldings or emblem with either a heated surface or heat gun model J 25070 as needed. Take off the backing from the rear of the parts to expose the adhesive and gently push it onto the surface. Place the rear emblem on its surface and spread even force all over the contact points until you reach ideal adhesion. A wallpaper roller is useful for this step when done correctly.

Start by taking out the upper grille baffle to work on a GMC Radiator Grille Emblem. You can use a small tool to open the retaining clips behind the emblem before sliding it away from the grille . Push the replacement emblem onto the grille space by aligning the retaining clips with its openings before pushing it back to lock the clips in place. Set the final part of the upper grille baffle back in its place.

To remove the emblem for the grille on a GMC vehicle, remove the upper baffle of the grille first. Measure and mark out the area behind the grill for drilling holes and mounting brackets into the bottom of the pad portion of the emblem using a small flat-bladed tool, then release the retaining clips found on the rear of the emblem to separate and pull the emblem away from the grille . For installation align the emblem with openings on the grille and push it rearward till retaining clips are fully seated. Finally, re-install the upper grille baffle.

First, remove the upper grille baffle.

Reinstall the upper grille baffle.
