    Q:
How to replace the Drive Shaft on Chevrolet Venture? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raising and supporting the vehicle must occur first before proceeding with propeller shaft replacement. Mark the Transfer Case flange of the propeller shaft before removing the bolts that attach it to the Transfer Case. At the next stage of the operation mark the propeller shaft by its position at the torque tube end after which remove the propeller shaft-to-torque tube flange bolts. The propeller shaft should be pushed backward during removal. Once pushed you can remove it from the vehicle. Beginning the installation process requires joining the propeller shaft's rear section to the torque tube flange with proper alignment of reference marks. Clear all contaminations from bolt threads while applying threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 or an equivalent product to guarantee proper assembly. Secure the propeller shaft-to-torque tube bolts manually while maintaining the correct relationship between components and placing the special washer on each pair of bolts. Instill the propeller shaft at the vehicle's rear until it connects with the Transfer Case flange while maintaining reference mark alignment. The propeller shaft-to-Transfer Case bolts need installation with special washers on each pair and follow cross-pattern bolt tightening to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Install the propeller shaft-to-torque tube bolts while keeping special washers on each pair and use a cross pattern for bolt tightening to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
