Radiator Assembly

Given the 1.4l/1.5l/1.6l engine type one must first disconnect the negative cable from the battery before Radiator replacement. The first step is to drain the engine cooling system followed by electric cooling fan removal. Begin by freeing the upper Radiator Hose clamp followed by disconnecting both the upper and lower Radiator hoses before taking out their attached clamps. The installation requires removing both clamp and hose fittings from the surge tank hose before detachment from the Radiator. First remove the left and right upper Radiator retaining bolts and brackets while making sure to put leftover coolant into a drain pan before taking out the Radiator from the vehicle. Install the new Radiator within rubber shock bumpers supporting its bottom posts before placing the retainers in position then install and torque the upper right retaining bracket to 7 nm (62 lb in). Reposition the Radiator then install the upper left retaining bracket followed by its bolt. Hook up the surge tank hose to the Radiator before applying a hose clamp followed by installation of upper and lower Radiator hoses to each of which you should add a hose clamp. The electric cooling fans receive reinstallation after engine cooling system filling and completion of battery negative cable reconnection.

Drain the engine cooling system and remove the electric cooling fans.
