2009 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator in a 1.4L/1.5L/1.6L engine on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The process of replacing a Radiator in any 1.4l/1.5l/1.6l engine requires users to start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Drain the cooling system of the engine before removing the electric cooling fans. First unclamp the upper Radiator Hose then disconnect both upper and lower Radiator hoses while removing their clamps. Disconnect both Radiator hoses keeping their clamp in position by removing the hose clamp of surge tank's hose from Radiator. Drain coolant into a pan before taking out these components because the Radiator brackets and left and right bolts are located at the upper section. Place the new Radiator with its bottom posts settled in the rubber shock bumpers before installing the retainers and securing the upper right retaining bracket followed by the upper right retaining bolt which must be tightened to 7 nm (62 lb in). The same installation process should be followed for the upper left retaining bracket together with bolt. The surge tank hose needs connection to the Radiator followed by securement with a hose clamp before attaching upper and lower Radiator hoses which must be fastened with hose clamps. The procedure ends with filling the engine cooling system after installing electric cooling fans and then reconnecting the battery negative cable.
