2009 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the water pump on the 1.4L/1.6L DOHC engine on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Before working on the 1.4l/1.6l dohc engine you must disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Take out your specific engine rear timing belt cover before draining the engine coolant. Straighten out the mounting bolts that hold the coolant pump in place and remove both the pump and its seal ring at the same time. The new coolant pump receives its seal ring before being dipped in lubriplater(R). Marine the coolant pump to its correct position by positioning it inside the rear timing belt cover recess and tighten the bolts with 10 nm (89 lb in) torque. Replace the rear cover and refill the engine cooling system before connecting the negative Battery Cable.
