• Q: How to replace the water pump on a 1.4L LDT/1.6 LXV on 2010 Chevrolet Aveo?

  A: You must empty the coolant before starting coolant pump replacement on a 1.4l ldt/1.6 lxv vehicle. Start by taking out the air cleaner package and right headlamp unit. You need to remove the a/c pipe retainer to have free access to the a/c pipe. Set the en-49201 Water Pump Pulley remover/installer into the Water Pump Pulley retaining bolts and loosen them. Then take off the accessory belt for replacement. The Water Pump Pulley goes with en-48356 engine fixture unit removal plus Engine Mount before pulling the pump. Sever the Water Pump bolts and remove the Water Pump along with its ring seal. Check the Water Pump for breaks or dampness while observing for any unusual sounds. Also clean the Water Pump and cylinder head contact points. Place the new ring seal on the Water Pump before you mount it to the engine front cover. Tighten the retaining bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in). Put the Water Pump Pulley and accessory belt back onto the engine after reconnecting the Engine Mount to the Water Pump. After reconnecting the a/c pipe retainer put the a/c pipe in its proper position. Reinstall both headlamp and air cleaner units to their original places. Fill the engine cooling system after replacement.
