Start by loosening the overflow hose clamps before taking the overflow hose off the surge tank top. Start by removing the tank attaching nuts before you remove the tank from your vehicle. Wash both the inside and exterior of the surge tank and its cap with soap and water before conducting thorough rinsing. Install the surge tank by inserting it into the vehicle while tightening the attaching nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in) torque. Use hose clamps to connect the overflow hose to the surge tank then clamp it into place. Fill the surge tank with coolant until it reaches either the center ridge or the MAX mark.
