2009 Chevrolet Aveo Coolant Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Engine coolant must first be drained to a level which is below the surge tank mark to replace the Radiator Surge Tank. Begin the Radiator Surge Tank replacement by unfastening both overflow hose clamps followed by disconnecting the hose at the surge tank's top. Use tools to remove tank attaching nuts before extracting the tank out of your vehicle. Wash the surge tank inside along with the outside of its cap using soap solution followed by complete water rinsing. After positioning the surge tank inside the vehicle secure it by tightening the attaching nuts at 10 Nm (89 lb in). Suspend the overflow hose onto the surge tank before tightening the hose clamps. After completing tank installation secure it with attaching nuts and insert coolant until it reaches either maximum fill point or the center ridge on the surge tank.
