    Q:
How to replace or repair an emblem/nameplate on the liftgate on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start by protecting the body panel with tape then marking the installation points on the Chevrolet liftgate before replacing or fixing the emblem/nameplate. Heat the emblem with a Heat Gun (J 25070) at a distance of 152 mm for 30 seconds through circular movements. Use a plastic tool to gently pull off the emblem/nameplate from its holding position. Seal off body panels prior to work using a 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501) while plastic panels need a lint-free cloth and either Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha or a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixture. Use the same cleaning solution to wipe the installation space after drying the area completely. Place a marker sticker at the correct location when the emblem/nameplate mark is missing. Install the UPLANDER emblem at 1.30 inches from the right side while setting the VERSATRAK logo 2.09 inches below the bottom edge following precise dimensions for placement. Place the Chevrolet emblem directly above the license plate pocket center. Use the Heat Gun (J 25070) to warm both surfaces till they reach 27-41°C (80-105°F). Keep the emblem/nameplate temperature within 29-32°C (85-90°F). Carefully remove the backing film before you place and press the emblem/nameplate into its correct marked position. Take off the protective tape from the body panel.

    Q:
How to replace the liftgate emblem/nameplate on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
A Chevrolet liftgate emblem/nameplate replacement starts with 2 tools: J 25070 Heat Gun and 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Start by covering the body area and then locate the right locations for your new emblem. Point the Heat Gun J 25070 at the surface from 152 mm (6 in) for 30 seconds as you rotate it to loosen the adhesive. Use a plastic tool with a flat blade to take out the emblem/nameplate from its position. Body panels need the 3M(TM) P/N 07501 Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk but plastic panels work better with a lint-free cloth soaked in varnish makers and painters (VMP) naphtha or 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water. Clean and dry the area thoroughly before installation and put tapes at the installation positions to mark them if required. Install the Chevrolet emblem/nameplate on top of the license plate pocket by following set dimensions that center the UPLANDER symbol. Attach the emblem/nameplate when the mounting surface reaches 27-41°C (80-105°F) using the Heat Gun (J 25070) and keep the emblem/nameplate temperature between 29-32°C (85-90°F). Press the emblem/nameplate onto the surface by matching placement marks and applying uniform pressure after you remove its protective film. End your process by taking off the body panel protection tape.
