    Q:
How to replace the door emblem/nameplate on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replace the door panel emblem on your Colorado by obtaining a Heat Gun (J 25070) and 3M(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Secure the door area with tape to keep the emblem safe while you position it. Heat the emblem/nameplate surface using a Heat Gun J 25070 kept 152 mm away from the area for 30 seconds while moving it in circular motions. Use a plastic tool to delicately take off the emblem/nameplate from its position. Clear away all residue from its edges and the surface where it lay through the use of adhesive remover. Clean the door panel surface using varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha product. Position the emblem at marks 166 mm (6.54 in) below and 117.4 mm (4.62 in) in front of the door bottom when no marks exist. Heat the door surface with the Heat Gun to reach at least 21°C (70°F) before separating the emblem/nameplate backing on its front part. After placing the emblem/nameplate on the door panel you should use your hands to roll it firmly against the panel as you peel off the backing. Determine proper bond of emblem/nameplate before removing tape that covered the door panel.

    Q:
How to replace the endgate emblem/nameplate on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace a Colorado endgate emblem/nameplate begin with these two items: Heat Gun (J 25070) and 3M(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Start your procedure by laying down protective tape around both sides of the tailgate emblem. Set the 152 mm long Heat Gun (J 25070) away from the emblem at 6 inches and move it in circles toward the emblem/nameplate for 30 seconds to heat it. When removing the endgate emblem you need to first dislodge it with a plastic blade before treating all remaining adhesive residues with a special 3M adhesive removal material on both parts. Wipe the tailgate flat with VMP naptha cleaning solution. Use tape and measure two inches 61mm from the tailgate edge and 2.61 inches 66.4mm from below to set the appropriate location. Apply heat from the Heat Gun (J 25070) to bring the tailgate surface to 21°C (70°F) minimum without touching the emblem/nameplate adhesive backing. Press the front part of the emblem/nameplate onto the target position on the tailgate as you pull off the remaining backing. Press and roll the emblem/nameplate by hand to secure it properly then check for good binding before removing backing tape from around the emblem.

    Q:
How to replace the front side door emblem/nameplate on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before working on the side door emblem/nameplate you need to apply tape at the correct areas to shield the panel from scratches while preparing for installation. Heat the surface 152 mm (6 inches) away from a J 25070 heat gun while rotating the gun in circles for 30 seconds. Use a plastic tool to gently lift off the emblem/nameplate to stop harming the paint surface. Wipe the door panel surface and the brand plate with a scotch brite 3M(TM) molding adhesive remover disk 3M(TM) P/N 07501 before applying VMP naphtha to clean the door surface. Maintain tape positioning at 166 mm (6.54 in) from the door bottom and 117.4 mm (4.62 in) from the front edge to place the emblem/nameplate. Heat the door surface to 21°C (70°F) minimum with the J 25070 gun until the area is warm enough to avoid touching the backing of the emblem. Press the emblem/nameplate onto the door panel from its front end without backing in place. Grip the exposed side to fix the emblem properly. Then hand roll the installation area to achieve secure attachment. Evaluate the bond of the emblem/nameplate before you remove its protective tape from the surrounding door area.
