The first step in tightening bank 1 Fuel Rail bolts should be with a torque of 12 nm (106 lb in) followed by reaching a final torque of 23 nm (17 lb ft). Place new crossover fuel pipes on the rail before installing the high pressure fuel sensor. First connect the electrical connector of the Fuel Injector wiring harness to both the fuel injectors and Fuel Rail as well as the Fuel Pressure Sensor. To detect fuel leaks you should enable the ignition for two seconds while the engine is off followed by a ten-second off period before ending with a vehicle off ignition state to conduct leak examination. Tier the installation by putting in the fuel pipe shield and low side fuel pressure service port cap and fuel tank cap.

The mechanics should torque bank 1 Fuel Rail bolts initially to 12 nm (106 lb in) during the initial stage and reach a final torque setting of 23 nm (17 lb ft). The new installation of a Fuel Rail crossover pipe must be accompanied by a high-pressure fuel pipe as well as a high-pressure fuel sensor. The wiring harness electrical connector needs to connect to each injector and rail and pressure sensor. Start the ignition when the engine is off for a period of two seconds then shut it off for ten seconds while inspecting for fuel leakage before restarting the ignition. The repair process concludes by reattaching the foam insulator together with the Intake Manifold and fuel pipe shield and low side fuel pressure service port cap and fuel tank cap.

Sequence the bank 1 Fuel Rail bolt installation with a first torque of 12 nm (106 lb in) and finish at 23 nm (17 lb ft). The procedure now requires installing a new Fuel Rail crossover pipe before mounting the high pressure fuel sensor. The Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connector needs installation to all components including fuel injectors, Fuel Rail and Fuel Pressure Sensor. After switching on the ignition with engine off for 2 seconds and subsequently turning it off for 10 seconds you can inspect for fuel leaks. The sequence of final installation includes the fuel pipe shield and low side fuel pressure service port cap and the fuel tank cap.

Connect the fuel injector wiring harness electrical connector to the fuel injectors, fuel rail, and fuel pressure sensor.

Lubricate the fuel injector cups with silicon-free engine oil GM P/N 12345610 (Canadian P/N 9931930) or equivalent.

Reinstall the fuel pipe shield, the low side fuel pressure service port cap, and the fuel tank cap.

Install the fuel pipe shield, the low side fuel pressure service port cap, and the fuel tank cap.

Connect the fuel injector wiring harness to the injectors, fuel rail, and fuel pressure sensor.

Install a new fuel rail crossover pipe and a new high pressure fuel pipe, followed by the high pressure fuel sensor.

Remove the fuel rail bolts and the fuel pressure sensor, discarding the direct fuel injector hold down clamps.
