    Q:
How to replace the fuel rail assembly on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for the Fuel Rail assembly demands users to eliminate fuel system pressure first. Start by separating the air cleaner outlet resonator while disconnecting its vacuum pipe from the Fuel Pressure Regulator and removing engine fuel supply and return pipes. Start by disconnecting the Fuel Injector harness connectors and remove the Fuel Rail attaching studs performing the procedure with caution to protect both Fuel Injector electrical connector terminals and spray tips from damage. To detach fuel injectors from the cylinder ports the technician must pull the Fuel Rail upward and then rotate it before extracting the components. The first step of installation involves using new lower o-rings with oil lubrication of injector tip o-rings before inserting the fuel injectors into the Intake Manifold. Lower the Fuel Rail toward the cylinder head ports using the downward orientation of the injectors while rotating the rail toward the engine block before slowly dropping the injectors inside the ports. Secure the Fuel Rail attaching studs with 10 n.m torque value (89 pounds of inch force). Connect the harness connectors for the fuel injectors making sure they stay locked in position followed by the installation of fuel supply and return pipes along with vacuum pipe attachment to the pressure regulator and air-cleaner outlet resonator reinstallation. Turn on the ignition and examine fuel leaks by connecting the negative Battery Cable with the engine off for two seconds followed by a ten-second off period of ignition then repeat with another two-second on cycle.
