How to replace the shock absorber (W/F55) on Cadillac Seville? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the procedure of Shock Absorber replacement for w/f55 requires suitable vehicle elevation and support. First remove the wheel along with tire and after that support the lower Control Arm. Remove the 2 holding bolts that connect the Shock Absorber to the Control Arm and disconnect the air tube from this component. First remove the trunk trim to reach the upper Shock Absorber before disconnecting the road sensing suspension harness connector from the Shock Absorber. Then remove the upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts for Shock Absorber removal from the vehicle. Position the Shock Absorber on the vehicle before you install the upper retaining nuts while tightening them to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). The Shock Absorber receives the road sensing suspension harness connector before you reinstall the trunk trim then install and tighten lower shock bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Connect the air tube to the shock after installing the tire and wheel while the vehicle rests on the tires with a partial descent. The automatic level control system requires residual pressure before driving which can be activated by turning on the ignition without starting the engine for 45 seconds followed by turning off the ignition. Finally, lower the vehicle.
