The seat belt system must get inspected and replaced after a collision to preserve safety measures. Every seat belt system that faced a serious enough vehicle collision needs replacement after the automatic extension devices activated. These devices include seat belt pretensioners and Air Bags. Entrant seat belts and all devices for securing children and infants must be replaced with new ones that include LATCH system attachment points together with top tether anchorages. A minor crash that did not trigger auto restraint devices requires replacing the worn or damaged parts but replacement of other components only happens if automatic restraint devices are not present in the accident.
