    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The initial step to replace the A/C Accumulator is recovering refrigerant from it. Proceed by taking away the air cleaner assembly together with the a/c tube coupling connecting the A/C Accumulator tube to the evaporator tube and the A/C Accumulator tube to the condenser tube. Start the process of removing the A/C Accumulator by disconnecting its tube from the condenser then removing the mounting bolt before finally disconnecting it from the evaporator tube. Discard the o-ring seals. The installation of a new A/C Accumulator requires adding refrigerant oil to it. Place new o-ring seals on the A/C Accumulator tubes before joining the evaporator tube to them and installing the a/c tube coupling on top. Secure the A/C Accumulator with the mounting bolt while tightening it to 10 n.m (88 lb in). Affix the a/c tube coupling to unite the condenser tube with the A/C Accumulator tube. Once the air cleaner is reinstalled the system needs evacuation and recharging. You should carry out a leak test for component fittings by using the halogen leak detector model j 39400-a.
