    Q:
How to replace the rear Weather Strip on the roof lift-off panel of a coupe on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for replacing the rear weather strip on coupe roof lift-off panels begins by removing the roof panel then dislodging the push-in retainers from the lower ends of the strip as well as unfastening the screws from the upper corners. Check the rear weather strip for damage after removing it from its retainers before choosing replacement when needed. A 6mm (0.25 inch) long by 100mm (4 inch) wide bead of thumb grade sealer must be applied to the roof bow and lock pillar where they overlap the side retainer for installation. Begin by removing the protective film from new weather strip foam tape or apply adhesive tape onto a weather strip being reused. The rear roof weather strip needs to be positioned onto the roof bow retainers by sliding it first into the middle retainer before continuing to the sides. Secure the screws in the upper corners of the rear weather strip and tighten them to 3.4 N.m (30 lb in). Begin installing the rear weather strip into its side retainers by starting from the upper corners and move down until both corners are in position afterward install push-in fasteners to the lower ends before adding back the roof panel.
