    Q:
How to replace the front wheel speed sensor on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the sensor replacement by lifting the vehicle and placing supports under it. Best method to replace the front Wheel Speed Sensor is by disconnecting its electrical connector first before removing the internally threaded bolt and pulling the sensor out of the Steering Knuckle. When the sensor fails to slide out, you must uninstall the brake rotor to reach the opposite side of the knuckle where you push the sensor out using a blunt punch or similar tool. Examine the sensor and Steering Knuckle after removal to check if the sensor's mounting pin stayed secure; if the pin broke off fetch the brake rotor if not already disassembled before using a blunt tool to extract it from the outboard side. Use sandpaper taped directly onto a screwdriver or a different tool to clean the sensor slot within the knuckle body. Keep the opening in its existing state. Place the new front Wheel Speed Sensor inside the Steering Knuckle then install its bolt and tighten it to 12 nm (107 inch lbs.). Attach the front Wheel Speed Sensor's electrical connection after you lower the vehicle and test the system with diagnostic system check - vehicle.
