    Q:
How to service and repair the steering wheel on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process to service and repair the Steering Wheel begins with the use of the j1859-a Steering Wheel puller (J1859-A) and j38720 Steering Wheel puller bolts (J38720). Begin by taking off the nut then disconnecting the horn ground lead. The specified Steering Wheel puller must be used for the job since it will protect the Steering Column from damage during removal. Avoid striking the Steering Column shaft's end with any tool. You must handle the j1859-a j38720 installation with caution to prevent the bolts from entering the Steering Wheel hub and breaking the sir coil. Next step after Steering Wheel removal requires the uninstallation of Steering Wheel horn switch. Route the sir coil electrical connector to the Steering Wheel before installing the Steering Wheel horn switch while making sure the tooth of the Steering Wheel lines up with the block tooth of the Steering Column shaft within a single female serration. Afterward install the Steering Wheel while redoing the horn ground lead connection. Finish the installation by screwing the nut and tightening it to 43 nm (32 ft. Lbs.).

    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
To change the steering wheel, first remove the SIR module from the steering wheel. Then take off the steering wheel retaining nut and remove the horn ground lead. When connecting the J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller (J 1859-A) and J 38720 Steering Wheel Puller Bolts (J 38720) to the steering wheel, be careful so the bolts do not go through the entire length of the steering wheel hub into the SIR coil for fear of damaging it. Use the J 1859-A and J 38720 to remove the steering wheel and then remove the steering wheel horn switch. For installation, route the steering wheel SIR coil connector and install steering wheel horn switch and steering wheel. Connect the horn ground lead and install the steering wheel retaining nut tightening it to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.) Last, mount the SIR module to the steering wheel.
