    How to replace the lower control arm ball joint on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer

    You have to remove the lower Control Arm first to replace its Ball Joint. Place the Control Arm into a vise or similar holding equipment for stability during the replacement process. Turn the 8 mm drill bit into the Ball Joint rivets then switch to a 12 mm bit while enlarging the hole before cleaning smooth the Control Arm surface. Make note of the Ball Joint placement before you remove it and place it safely. Wipe away all dirt from the Control Arm surface before you insert the new Ball Joint exactly as you marked it during removal. Use the hardware pack that comes with your new Ball Joint while placing its bolts with their heads on top. Attach the lower Control Arm after you secure the Ball Joint bolts to the Control Arm with 68 nm (50 lb ft).
