    Q:
How to replace the power window switch in the right front door on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the right front door Power Window Switch replacement only after setting the ignition to off position. Start by removing the door trim panel followed by removing retainer screws on the back side of the upper trim panel and then unfasten the upper trim from the door. After detaching the door panel's inner energy absorber one should remove four rear retaining screws along with the single retaining screw from the forward side of the armrest assembly. When detaching the armrest wire harness always use duct tape to shield the finish while removing the armrest assembly to safeguard the mirror, the window, and the applique part of the door lock switch plate. The Power Window Switch assembly should be extracted from its pocket in the door trim panel before disconnecting the wire harness. The Power Window Switch should be extracted from the armrest switch plate applique. Begin by connecting the Power Window Switch to its slot on the armrest switch plate applique but push the switch in order to ensure it secures properly. After removing protective tape from the pocket in the door trim panel you should install the Power Window Switch assembly while connecting the wire harness to it. Reinstall the Door Armrest to the sheet metal panel using four retaining screws at the rear and one screw at the forward end while tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reinstall the inner energy absorber to the door panel followed by upper trim application before you mount the retainers at the rear of the door panel and secure them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Then install the door trim panel.
