    Q:
How to clean the throttle body on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
To clean the Throttle Body, get rid of the air cleaner intake duct and the air inlet screen if exist. Inspect Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits while ensuring that the throttle valve is open for full inspection. Do not use immersion cleaners or harsh solvents on assemblies in which the throttle position (TP) sensor, idle air control (IAC) valve, or sealed throttle shaft bearings are installed as these items can be destroyed or by solvents can erode the grease on non-serviceable throttle shaft bearings. Do not use wire brushes or scrapers, which may damage the components of the Throttle Body, and also do not use cleaners with methyl ethyl ketone. Clean the Throttle Body bore and valve plate with a clean shop towel and gm top engine cleaner (P/N 1052626), or an equivalent product. There is excessive deposits; then disassemble the Throttle Body for cleaning with a part cleaning brush paying attention not to dip it into any cleaning solvent. Reassemble them and install them after cleaning, the Throttle Body then the air inlet screen and the air cleaner intake duct.
