The fuel filler cap needs to be loosened to reduce system pressure before starting evap Canister Purge Valves replacement. Users should disconnect the evap Canister Purge Valves vacuum hose from its position at the engine vent adapter while they simultaneously disconnect the electrical connectors from both the coil pack and evap quick connect fitting. The vapor emissions control system will benefit from both removing the heated oxygen sensor connector from its mounting bracket by unclipping its electrical connector from the evap Canister Purge Valves. Unfasten the bolt which secures the heated oxygen sensor connector bracket and the evap Canister Purge Valves bracket to the crankcase vent housing before pulling out the evap Canister Purge Valves assembly from the engine while remembering the vacuum source hose path. The installation process requires you to place the evap Canister Purge Valves assembly in the position it had during disassembly behind the intake plenum. Apply the bolt to fix brackets made of heated oxygen sensor connector and evap Canister Purge Valves to the crankcase vent housing. Tighten the bolt securing the evap Canister Purge Valves bracket to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Insert the electrical connector onto the evap Canister Purge Valves before you install the heated oxygen sensor connector to its bracket and connect the evap quick connect fitting. Reinstall the electrical connector to coil pack as well as the evap Canister Purge Valves vacuum hose to the engine vent adapter. Finally, tighten the fuel filler cap.

The first step is loosening the fuel filler cap to reduce system pressure before replacing the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve. Unplug the evap canister purge valve vacuum hose at the engine vent adapter and disconnect the coil pack electrical connector as well as the evap quick connect fitting. Disconnect both the heated oxygen sensor connector located on the bracket and the electrical connector affixed to the evap canister purge valve. During this step note down the vacuum source hose routing. Detach the evap canister purge valve assembly from inside the motor. During replacement work you should install the evap canister purge valve assembly where you observed it during disassembly behind the intake plenum. Screw in the bolt which secures both heated oxygen sensor connector bracket and evap canister purge valve bracket onto the crankcase vent housing . Tighten the evap canister purge valve bracket bolt to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Complete the electrical connector installation to the evap canister purge valve, then mount the heated oxygen sensor connector to its bracket followed by evap quick connect fitting installation. The electrical connector should hook up to both the coil pack and the engine vent adapter where the evap canister purge valve vacuum hose attaches. The final task involves tightening the fuel filler cap.
