You should start service of the engine oil dip stick and dip stick tube by taking out the Spark Plug wire from number five cylinder then progressing to the removal of the oil level indicator bracket bolt and the oil level indicator. The next step requires removal of the oil level indicator tube. Sealant gm p/n 12345493 or its equivalent should be applied to the bottom section of the oil level indicator tube 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) from the bead. Mount the engine block oil level indicator tube after tightening its bracket bolt to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Afterward connect the oil level indicator to its place and reconnect the Spark Plug wire to the number five cylinder Spark Plug.
