How to replace the wheel axle shaft on 2000 Cadillac Catera?

Place gear selector in neutral, raise and support vehicle. Remove tire/wheel. Secure wheel hub with holding adapter J 42066, remove axle flange bolts. Using axle separator J 42071, separate axle from hub and differential, then remove. Clean, lubricate splines, reinstall axle with mallet, secure bolts using J 42066. Remove adapter, reinstall wheel, lower vehicle.
