• Q: How to replace the Headlight Switch and Turn Signal Switch on 2000 Cadillac Catera?

  A: Before fitting a new turn signal/headlamp switch start by inhibiting the sir system. Take out all plastic screw caps and screws from the upper steering column and peel off the upper Steering Column Cover. Take off the steering wheel tilt lever then unscrew and take out the rubber protective shield at the lock cylinder. Unscrew the lower Steering Column Cover and remove its components. Use the tabs to push the switch away from the steering column and unplug its electrical contacts. Plug the electrical connector to the turn signal switch and insert it onto the steering column by aligning the locking tabs. Position back the lower Steering Column Cover and its screws together with the rubber lock cylinder cover before reattaching the steering wheel tilt lever. Reinstall the upper steering column covering then attach its screws before putting back screw caps and turning on the sir system.
