2000 Cadillac Seville Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a vacuum brake booster on 2000 Cadillac Seville?
A: You must disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum check valve to take out the vacuum Brake Booster. Aim to remove the master cylinder from the booster easily while pushing the cylinder forward over the studs rather than bending or distorting the brake pipes. To take off the booster pushrod from the Brake Pedal assembly, slightly tilt the booster and guide the pushrod clevis pin out of the pedal without significant side pressure. Set aside the booster unit from the vehicle before removing its gasket. Put the gasket over the booster before reinstalling the booster into its vehicle position. Fix the booster pushrod to the Brake Pedal while angling the booster away from pressure direction to connect it with a retaining pin. Attach the booster studs to its nuts first then put the master cylinder onto the booster. Tighten master cylinder attaching nuts to 20 ft. Lbs. (27 Nm). Replace the booster vacuum hose into its position on the vacuum check valve.
